Before I go into details about my wedding day, let me start off by telling you how my husband, Pat and I met.
We’re both born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. We went to the same high school, Lester B. Pearson. He was a grade higher than me and he had a crush on me but never came up to tell me. Now, this gets interesting… I never met Pat in Canada. I didn’t even know he existed! My family and I moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1999 after graduating high school and Pat didn’t know. We lived our separate lives and while doing that, he traveled to Florida quite a few times to help out is aunt and uncle at their restaurant. In February 2010, 10 years after moving to Florida, Pat was on Facebook and saw “People You Might Know” and my profile popped up. He was visiting at that time so we connected online and finally met in person at his family’s restaurant. Let me add that I was a little freaked out when I found out he liked me back in high school because I thought he was now stoking me LOL. We stayed friends for 4 months and went on a few dates but I kept it PG-13 and no kissing or holding hands also. I just broke up with my boyfriend and really needed some “me” time. Pat had to go back to Montreal so after 4 months of us being friends, I finally confessed how much I liked him. We did long distance for a couple of months and then he moved to Florida to be with me. 3 months later, the same year we met, Pat proposed to me. It was truly meant to be!
Fast forward to August 11th, 2012, our wedding day! We wanted to come back to our beautiful old city, Montreal as our backdrop to get married. Our family and friends reside there and more people traveled from Europe and the U.S to come to our wedding. We decided to keep things minimal by having an elegant, modern-chic vibe. Each detail flowed together so perfectly. We chose colors such as black, white, gray and shades of pink. Ceremony and reception was at La Plaza in downtown Montreal, the perfect venue for what we had in mind! Our entire day and night was documented in the most classic and timeless feel through the lens of Christina Esteban Photography and Coco Films.
